be jealous..
3 couples
1 helluva V day celebration
and ya all those anti- valentine crowd can get lost now, cuz this post is gonna be so full of love you wish you were loved like this also..
let me start the tale from the very beginning.
once upon a time, there was this 6 friends who tot that life is too boring the way it is and decided to make it more fun. and their idea of fun is dividing each 6 of them into couples. so do the maths and you'll get 3 couples. and since it was stil very ordinary, one of them came up with this ingenious idea of making all the 'husbands' brothers and the wifes sisters. am i confusing you? yes? so i shall explain.. its like 3 brothers married to 3 sisters. cool eh? yes, in a weird way. they will be here one named husband1, 2 an 3, and wife 1, 2 and 3.
but the most pityful couple will be the eldest 1,since their never together. slightly better is the last 1, but their motto is 'violence=love' and obviouly the happiest of all is the 2nd couple. but as luck might have it, any triple date organized is never complete, there is always 1 partner missing leaving us with oni 5 people. and naturally the 1 without the partner gets bullied. its a sin not to.
time flew, when suddenly they realised feb 14 was approaching fast and the husbands were racking their brains for ideas, when by the blessing of god husband 3 came up with this kick ass of a plan. hats off to 'him'. it was a real shock coming from 'him', 'he' was after all the person who said that the long kavadi is so beautiful, when in reality it was a lamp post. but thats another story for another day.
so back to this story i was telling, a tiny hint:
all 6 of them are girls.
and i am one of them.
i am the 2nd husband.
don't ask why we do this.
its all the stress of studying.
and none of us are gay.
not yet anyway.lol.
phew, that was a mighty long story cut real short. so the plan for feb14 was to give each of the wifes notes, (but they will not know that its from us)that will eventually lead to a gift and an instruction to meet the note giver at a designated place (all 3 will meet at the same place). easy peasy? not.
for one, all 3 of the wives are not suppose to suspect anything while at the planning stage, and this is very difficult cuz we are friends and friends go everywhere together, except for the 1st wife who will be wit her other frens. so planning was mostly done early morning before class and via sms, which explains why my credit when from 30 to 8 in 1 day. yes, thats how intricate the planning was.
each of the husbands had something to do. husband 1 was incharge of the cards (self made), husband 3 of the gift while i took care of the loves notes aka treasure hunt like instructions.
since v day fell on a sat it was even better as we do have classes on that day. thus 4 allies were made to be the 1st note giver to the wifes. they are told to tell that is was from some guy they never met before. ha ha. you should have seen the look on my wife's face whe she recieved the note, priceless :D this 1st note is very vital as when it is given the other wives should not see it and at the same time the respective husbands must be with them.. to lead them you see.
the 1st break given was used for the 1st wife and the 3rd wife to go searching for thier gift, and with gods grace all went exactly as planned with no slight doubt that it was from us. okay..maybe they were slightly suspicious. but as good actors we are, we managed to convince them otherwise. but the most worrisome part was my wife, because she is very very smart. she notices every bloody thing i do. thats why she was made to go last. but god, it was added pressure on me, as it was up to me to make sure that it goes well since it went perfectly with the others wives. but when the 1st note was given to my wife, i managed to act jealouly angry so that she was not suspicious and also lead her to the clues and the final note and gift. but she din want to take the gift. only took the note. see i have the most loyal wife. but i loved the worried look on her face la. she looked so freaked out and worried i thought she might faint. i wished i could somehow recorded it.
so at 1 o clock all 3 nervous wifes and 3 overly excited husbands made their way to the lobby(this was the final meeting place) seperately. i think they were so worried about it that they didn't realise that al 6 of us were headed there. and once there we gave them self made v day cards and broke to them gently that it was the work of their loving husbands. at this point 3 things happened chronologically:
mouth open wide in horror
scream and chase us down for giving the shock of their live
hugging and saying thank you profusely.
and with that one of the most memorable v day ever was celebrated. thank god for making it happen, if not all our 1 week of planning, late night sleep, early morning sms'es, and secret rendezous would have gone down the drain. all the 3 husbands played their part perfectly with the 1st husband deserving an oscar for her lost pendrive performance.
i am not sure if my explanation did justice to it, most probably it didn't. its one of the things that you have to personally experience to really understand the magnitude of it. i end this by showing you the love notes with instructions received by the wifes. please do not copyright it:
for the 1st wife:
1st note:
With my heart you meddle,
To show my love is this riddle,
Walk like a fiddle,
To the C2.1 notice board, my cuddle.
2nd note:
With just one look I went kaput,
By the 2nd I was clearly out,
High and low I searched for a gift,
At 1st floor food stall lays the 1 perfect.
3rd note: (the same for all 3)
Love is in the air,
So please do care.
I have done my part,
Stop playing with my heart,
No matter yes or no, I await,
Ground floor of block A at,
The stroke of 1 is the time set,
Near the sofa is where we’ll meet.
*************************************
for the 3rd wife:
1st note:
To show my love,
I’ll scale even the highest of mountains,
but for you to show yours
walk to the staircase opposite C210
and look behind the door.
2nd note:
Hurry to the library,
Not for books,
But amidst the silent cafe
Lays my gift for you.
**********************************
for my wife
1st note:
Red might be the colour of love,
But without you I’ll be blue.
Hence, the blue locker at C204.b
holds my heart and the answer to this clue.
2nd note:
With your love I’ll be complete,
Even death seems sweet,
But I’ve kept it on hold,
Till the day I see you smile and hold you tight,
For now all I can offer is a gift,
At ground floor food stall it has been laid.
love,
-sharmT-

a standing ovation... i insist.
A Golden Globe provides the icing on Bollywood musician A.R. Rahman’s already illustrious career.
A.R. Rahman, who won a Golden Globe award on Sunday for best musical score with Slumdog Millionaire, is one of India’s most famous Bollywood composers and has sold nearly as many albums as Madonna.
His scores for a host of Indian language movies have fused global influences from hip-hop and rap to Broadway musicals and Indian folk music in a way that critics believe could help Bollywood music become more global.
Rahman, 43, wrote the music for the rags-to-riches romance of a Mumbai slum boy. The film also bagged three more Golden Globe honours for best drama, best director and best screenwriter.
It is the first time an Indian has won a Golden Globe for composing in a country whose rich classical traditions have inspired oeuvres of global music. Yet, Indian film music is mostly popular only with lovers of Bollywood.
“This means so much for Indian music,” said Gulzar, acclaimed filmmaker and Bollywood lyricist, who wrote one of the Slumdog songs.
“Not just classical (Indian) music, for which you can credit Pandit Ravi Shankar and all the other musicians, but when it comes to cinema and its music, Rahman has really brought it to the global stage.”
Known as the “Mozart of Madras”, the hometown of Rahman in southern India, the reticent composer was born A.S. Dileep Kumar, a Hindu, before his family converted to Sufi Islam and gave him the name Allah Rakha Rahman.
He studied music at Oxford and wrote advertisement jingles before getting a break in 1992 for the film Roja. The film paved the way for a career that has seen him sell around 200 million albums.
While his tunes for Hindi films such as Bombay, Dil Se, Taal and Guru and other Indian films redefined contemporary Indian music, global acclaim came with his score for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Bombay Dreams and the theatre production for The Lord of the Rings.
“His confluence of Indian and Western sounds is sure to go global now,” said Vishal Dadlani, a Bollywood composer and a contemporary of Rahman’s.
“The world had to wake up to the talent that this man has. It was inevitable.”
While Bollywood films are seen globally as splashy but naive, their music hardly has managed to overcome the language barrier for a foreign listener.
But in Rahman, Bollywood experts say, anyone with half an ear would not miss the vibrant, varied melody that is universal.
“To have what are essentially Indian songs and sounds in an English film speaks volumes of the confluence in Rahman’s music,” saidVishal.
“When you see it in the film, it dawns that the music is neither Indian nor Western, and that I think is the key to making it global. He has managed to merge the two without losing out on the magic.”
Bollywood experts hailed Rahman’s Golden Globe as a watershed in Indian music history.
“There are crossover films, and awards and mentions abroad, but to win a Golden Globe is a true global honour,” said Shankar Mahadevan, another top composer and singer. “The music industry in India has not even realised how huge this honour is.”
you can read the story in its original context here

yes its my collection of story books that awaits patiently to be read. lets meet them one by one shall we?
1. Anne Frank. The Diary of a Young Girl.
I think this book speaks for itself. i am currently reading this, and the maturity and depth and knowledge shown by this young girl is astonishing.
2. A Far Country by Daniel Mason.
A novel about a young girl's journey through a vast, unnamed country in search of her brother. it had a really good review and a good price tag too.
3. Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella.
As you all know i am a great fan of sophie kinsella. i just love her books. it always has a really nice ending. can't wait to start reading this. YAY! this is a tale about how one girl's memory loss leads to a perfect life. or does it?
4. The Grey King by Susan Cooper.
forget c.s.lewis, get your hands on this dark is rising sequence. 5 book in total. this is the 4th and yes i have the other three also. one of the plus point is the books are not thick. less than 200 pages if i am not mistaken. but its so havocly entertaining.
5. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
This novel is narrated by Death. it's a small story about:
~ a girl
~ an accordionist
~ some fanatical germans
~ a jewish fist fight
~ and quite a lot of thievery.
this is what the book is described to be, but this is no small story. it is 553 pages long o.O gonna read this last.
all is well, except for that bulging package at the foot of my table that yearns for my attention and is also responsible for my guilty conscience. this is it:
