Day 1

you know ur days is gonna be fun when the very 1st customer walks in with a sheepish grin asking for the blue pill :D not any blue pill but this:

magic pill
which comes in the pack below:

yes, blue pill is the code word for viagra

so thats how my 1st day of attachment started. pretty interesting huh.. i am doing my 16 hours of community pharmacy attachment in the pharmacy near my house. the pharmacist in charge is a very nice lady. she started explaining everything that i needed to know, allowed me to key in the new stock that came in, and i had fun with the bar code sensor :D i always liked playing with it. i'll randomly bring an item to the sensor in those big shopping malls, even though i already know its price..

the customers that come in are really really unique. there is the man who takes out his shoes before walking in, because he doesn't want to dirty the clean carpet. the same man sat and talked for very long before buying a plastic full of medication. before he left he inquired about a certain drug the pharmacist has recommended for 'kuatkan badan' Read between lines to understand which part of his badan he was referring to because i can assure you he wasn't talking about his heart.

While this patient was keen on strengthening if not his whole body at least a 'long' part of it, another came in to check his glucose level. his was normal, but he is so afraid of eating anything sweet at all. even when the pharmacist said he could take a moderate level of glucose, he still said he is worried his glucose level will increase. he was even worried of eating chicken for gods sake!!!and did i say he checks his level every month o.O

So thats how diverse the patients are, and i am only touching the tip here, but among these i found a similarity.. there were a lot of customers purchasing sexual enhancer. really. maybe it was just new to me. But then, i really did not think that this items are so sought after. I used to look and laugh at those advertisement on street lights promising definite success, but now i believe it is actually a very lucrative market..

since the number of patients started dropping at round tea time, the pharmacist in charge was reading a book on numerology. and what a coincidence when we realised that we share the same life and destiny numbers. (for those who don't know what am talking about, please do Google it) And i sat and read a while how both Adolf Hitler and Mahatma Gandhi was born in dates that sum up to be similar with mine. such stark opposites.

lets see what tomorrow brings for me.
