and the best part is..malaysia has representatives in it. and it is said that the time is ripe for badminton to contribute to malaysia its 1st olympic gold medal. drool worthy!!!!!!!!
lets see this is the venue: The Beijing University of Technology (BUT) Gymnasium

the near bird's eye view

a closer look

inside of it
i must say china has clearly outdone itself with its lavish preparations ahead of the olympics.
now for the malaysian rep's in men's single. (only men's single for now, since doubles is yet to start)

the hope- lee chong wei (world no.2)
men's single 1st round draw was a tough hurdle for the malysian singles players. lee chong wei played with ronald susilo of singapore. he(ronald) is famed for knocking out lin dan(the world no.1 in the previous olympic).so chong wei had to tread with extra cautiosness. but he practially blew ronald away with a superb straight game win. me like:P
next is wong choon han. he is a seasoned campaigner i.e has been playng for a loooooong long time. i think this is his 3rd olympic o is it 2nd. he had an even higher hurdle in the form indonesian taufik hidayat. now taufik is known to rise on special occasion, an exellant example would be the athens olympic, where he rightfully claimed the men's single champion trophy. period.

choon han
VS

taufik.he has the best backhand stroke.
but in all my badminton viewing days, i've never in my life seen choon han play lik that. ever! he was so aggresive, something that he lacked in his hey days. in my opinion la. and he won in straght games oso. unbelivable right...sigh.. but kinda feel sad for taufik, cuz in my opinion he is one of the few talented players who are also gifted. and of cuz it doesn't help that he is cute T.T
with just the 1st round cleared, ths two players stil have a long way to go..but m hopn to see the final between the wolrd no.1 against the world no.2. and with the world no.2 winning convincingly..

world no.1- lin dan of china.
and of cuz the world no.2 is lee chong wei of MALAYSIA!!!!! see im very faithful to my country...
now hopefully the doubles players can rise to the ocassion also. i'll only blog about them after they clear their 1st round. cuz their meeting their bogeyman... finger's crossed..
